The Columbus Museum of Art: Would Nirvana’s iconic record “Nevermind” have sounded as good without the baby on the cover?
The returning popularity of vinyl LPs have us thinking about some crazy good and memorable album cover art. And make no mistake … it is art!
The Columbus Museum of Art is hosting a brand new and locally curated exhibit entitled “Spin Art”, which opens on February 19th, and celebrates classic LP cover art. We can’t wait to visit and see the display of 90 different LP covers from bands including Funkadellic, David Bowie and Sonic Youth. Read more about the exhibit here: SPIN ART
The Night Music DJ staff decided we would each choose one of our favorite LP covers to share. Enjoy these, and let us know your favorites, too.
You can host your event at the Columbus Museum of Art!
Columbus Museum of Art offers a variety of opportunities for couples to achieve their complete wedding vision. Dramatic architectural details, access to more than 15 galleries, an outdoor balcony overlooking our north sculpture garden, all surrounded by a world-renowned art collection makes us the ideal location for your I-Do’s.

A ROOM FULL OF EXPERTS! How to make the most of The Columbus Weddings Show.
Visiting the Columbus Weddings Show? This is the place where you will have complete access to countless years of wedding and reception experience, and the professionals who love to be a part of the magic. This year’s show is at the Battelle Ballroom of the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Saturday, January 23rd from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, January 24th from 12pm to 5pm.
Visit Night Music at Booth 519 and meet FIZZY CAT, our photo studio experience.
Some advise when attending the Columbus Weddings Show.
Use the experts. It would be nearly impossible for you to assemble a panel of wedding experts on your own, but feel free to use the vendors at the show like they’re are all yours!
- Get the tux guys to give you the scoop on formal (tux) versus casual (suit or just a vest) options, and the cost breakdown on renting versus buying.
- Ask the reception facilities about parking or room layout and quiz the caterers about a crazy menu item the chef prepared for a fun couple, or the next foodie trend.
- Have the travel and honeymoon experts tell you places to avoid (Hurricane season? Crazy airports? ) or suggest underused places that are gems!
- See if the florist will tell you the biggest bang for your buck flowers.
- Ask the DJ for suggestions for a fun grand entrance song, or some cool trends for dinner music.
- Ask cake bakers about favorite or unique flavor combos.
We all really do love to talk about weddings – and would rather chat than “sell you” … seriously!

Kiss to Kiss activity during dinner.
Katherine and Brandon provided us with the names of a few special couples, and DJ David called on them to help demonstrate “how a married couple is supposed to kiss”. This was so fun and inclusive, and helped set the tone for the dancing that followed.
SPECIAL Anniversary Dance
As a way to fill the dance floor while also celebrating married couples, this dance began with the bride & groom AND anyone married 50 years or more. Then newest married and longest marrieds, including the bride’s Great Aunt & Uncle, Chuck & Marilyn Smith, enjoyed the spotlight and applause before other married couples were invited to join them and fill the dance floor.
Goodbye Circle Sing-along into Sparkler Exit
Everyone was invited to circle up with the bride and groom and join in singing their alma mater, Carmen Ohio together. At the end of the song, the wedding party led everyone outside to prepare for the spectacular SPARKLER EXIT!!!
Wishing happily ever after to Katherine and Brandon! Thanks for letting us be part of your wedding day.

Scarlet City Events. We are in awe of Dina, because she makes it look so easy!
This past weekend, we had the pleasure to be on the vendor team for a fabulous wedding which was planned, coordinated and managed by delightful Dina Gesouras, owner of Scarlet City Events.
It isn’t easy to find that voice of calm and reason while managing so many moving parts in a live event such as a wedding and reception. But, Dina skillfully and graciously handled the day, allowing her clients to enjoy themselves, and host the wedding of their dreams.
Happy bride and groom? Of course! But also, there were incredibly happy guests, and a team of vendors treating each other like best friends. What a pleasure AND success!
If you are in need of an event planner or consultant, consider Dina Gesouras, at Scarlet City Events. You’ll end up with a perfect event, and a new friend, too!
Here is a photo of Dina looking lovely at the end of a long and rewarding day, in front of the (still pretty) flowers from the reception.

Liz and Andrew’s wedding ceremony and reception were held in the Oak Room at the beautiful Columbus Athenaeum. www.columbusmeetings.com
Columbus Athenaeum Oak Room
The Oak Room is an original part of the historical building. It’s ideal for events for 100 to 230 guests. This handsome oak-paneled room has four large southern windows trimmed with green drapes. There are three interior fluted columns, which rise 14 feet to the ornately painted ceiling. The Oak Room is adjacent to the Olympian Ballroom and the Lobby, therefore, it serves well as a compliment to each of those spaces.
Heritage Golf Club.
What a happy day it was when Gina & Ricky got married at Heritage Golf Club. We loved every moment of this fabulous celebration. This is how a wedding should be celebrated!
The grand entrance song of Happy by Pharrell Williams (listen here) perfectly captured the feel in the room, and set the tone for the rest of the night.
The first dance song of You & I by Michael Buble (listen here) was such a romantic and beautiful song … absolutely one of our favorite first dances ever. (Written by Stevie Wonder, this version is gorgeous! Check it out.)
After the first dance, Gina and her dad had a sweet dance to Blessed by Elton John (listen here), and then Ricky and his mom hit the dance floor with a special history of dance-type mash up, ending with beautiful Gina leading all of the guests around the room and back to the dance floor for the dance party that never ended! Seriously.
Thanks to Tommy & Jerica at THS Photography for being so much fun to work with, AND sharing these great pictures. Finally, anytime we get to work with the wonderful staff at Heritage Golf Club is a great day! Take a look at the HERITAGE GOLF CLUB WEBSITE
