Kids at the wedding reception.

By Night Music DJ and Fizzy Cat Photo Booth

Kids at the wedding reception?  Here is one of our favorite things to do.

When there are lots of children at the reception, we have found a great way to include them.  Before the special dances, we invite all of the kids to come close to the dance floor, and get their front row seats.  This makes the kids feel important, makes for a great picture, and also manages to keep the kids together and off the dance floor for those spotlight moments.  Win win win!

Here is the DJ’s view of the first dance at Kayla & Caleb’s recent celebration with kids at the wedding.
Darling, right?

We have a lot of great ideas to help you navigate your wedding reception plan. Our years of quality experience can be a wonderful resource for you when planning your big day. Need some help? Need some advice? Just ask. Give us a call at 614-529-6777, or visit our website for a lot of great ideas.

Take a look at services like Social Sitters to look after the children during the wedding. They both entertain & supervise the children in a designated area in or near the wedding reception before and after your wedding meal. It will help you and your guests relax and enjoy the wedding reception knowing the kids are staying out of trouble but most of all having fun!

Brutus Buckeye Loves Weddings!

By Night Music DJ and Fizzy Cat Photo Booth

Brutus Buckeye Loves Weddings! DJ Jodi says “HI” to Brutus Buckeye during his visit to Linda and Seton Staley’s fantastic wedding celebration at The Westin Columbus. Brutus is quite the dancer.

Jodi and Brutus 2

How cool would it be to have Brutus come to your wedding reception?  We think very cool, and we love it anytime Brutus shows up.

Brutus has some brand new formal wear! He wore it for the first time at a wedding when he visited Jessica and Chris for their reception celebration at the Ohio Union. Check out this video!

The Ohio Union at The Ohio State University is a beautiful location for your special event. Jessica and Chris hired photographer extraordinaire, Brian Kellogg to capture all of the fun. Check out Brian’s photo slideshow of this wedding here: www.BrianKellogg.com.

We actually love it when ANY Buckeyes show up at a party.  Here’s how to make your own candy treats:

Recipe for Buckeyes:

Ingredients
18oz jar of creamy peanut butter
1 cup (2 sticks) of butter or margarine – softened
1 1/2 lbs confectioners sugar
12 oz (1 bag) real chocolate chips
Approx ½ package of Chocolate flavored candy melts or dipping chocolate

Directions:
1) Mix together peanut butter, margarine and confections sugar
You can do this by hand, or electric mixer, or food processor.

2) Form mixture into balls about 1 inch round.
If mixture is too sticky, add a little more powdered sugar

3) Place on tray and chill in freezer or refrigerator, at least 45 minutes

4) Melt chocolate chips and chocolate melts in microwave using instructions on package. This will likely be about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes at HALF power. Then stir.  Then, 15 second intervals still at half power until the chocolate mixture is melted and shiny!

5) Dip chilled peanut butter balls into chocolate (using a toothpick) – leaving some brown on top. Place on wax paper and chill until set. (It doesn’t take very long for them to “set”)

This recipe will make 70 or more Buckeyes.

By Night Music DJ and Fizzy Cat Photo Booth

Columbus Commons. So, how cool would it be to host your wedding ceremony or reception, or even your rehearsal dinner party right ON THE STAGE downtown at Columbus Commons?  Very cool, right?

We just discovered that not only the stage, but lots of awesome areas of Columbus Commons are available for private special events.

We enjoyed a great happy hour on the Commons stage

Can you imagine inviting your guests to join you on the stage, right in the heart of downtown Columbus?  We sure can, because we were thrilled to be guests to a fun happy hour on the stage. We were impressed that they have so much experience with different kinds of events, and they really think of AND take care of everything.  We all immediately began to envision all kinds of fabulous parties.
