Franklin Park Conservatory Renovation

Wow!  Work is underway for the massive renovation project taking place in the 125 year old historical Palm House and Showroom at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. We have proudly been a part of well over 100 weddings and events there, and we are so excited for the important investment the City Of Columbus is making in this unique and treasured gem. Sources tell us that the renovation is ahead of schedule, and that Phase 2 is progressing right along with Phase 1! Phase 2 will bring a completely new pavilion on the east side, and the images look fantastic!

Did you know that the The John F. Wolfe Palm House and connecting Dorothy M. Davis Showhouse are the oldest portions of Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Built in 1895 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974, they are one of ONLY SIX remaining Victorian-era glass houses in the U.S. Isn’t that amazing?

It’s all part of the North Star Master Plan

The Conservatory’s North Star Master Plan includes multiple components, and will completely transform the visitor experience in a modern and beautiful way. The entrance from Broad Street will be moved, and visitors will find a new centralized underground parking lot. We think this is a great idea to free up more above ground space for gardens and displays.

The new entrance to the Conservatory’s visitor experience will soon be a central location just west of the John F. Wolfe Palm House and the Conservatory’s Grand Mallway.

Reorienting the Conservatory in this way celebrates the splendor of the Palm House and creates a synergy between the Conservatory and Franklin Park.

The project is slated for completion in the fall of 2027.

In the meantime, the Conservatory is still open for business with their beautiful gardens, displays, gift shop, and exciting events.  We hope you join us in celebrating this Central Ohio GEM, and enjoying all of the exhibits, the incredible permanent Chihuly Glass collections, Cocktails at The Conservatory, upcoming Pumpkins Aglow, and Holidays Aglow and SO much more!
